Auckland to Ohope via Waihi Beach beach 6th April 2016

We left Auckland at 10.00am to avoid the worst of the morning rush traffic. Drove through Waihi Town stopped and looked at the gold mines.  Got to Waihi Beach about 12.30pm and stopped at the RSA for lunch. Nice position up the hill looking over the sea.
I was particularly  interested to get back to see Waihi Beach as we spent a lot of holidays down there as kids as my Dads brother Marsden had a bach there and  we often spent our holidays with them. I had heard from my cousin Christine that it had changed from when we went and she said yes she believes it has been added onto. I was very interested to see what had happened to it. Fortunately  I knew the Street No 37 Shaw Road and yes it was quite different as I will show you in the following pictures.
Arrived at our Motel in Ohope about 3.30pm. Nice unit. We are booked onto the White Island Boat trip out from Whakatane tomorrow so hoping this lovely weather will  last for that as it is very calm looking out to sea this evening.

Now we have discovered  that we have left the charger at home for the computer which is nearly flat so looks like that the end of doing my blog unless we can find one in town which I doubt as this thing is so old.!!!!!!!!! Good start to the holiday might have to do it by e mail will keep you all posted.
